Four Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Ancilla College students advance to NJCAA National Wrestling Championships

Christopher Bullock Bryan ChaveroFour student-athletes Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Ancilla College (MUAC) student-athletes have qualified to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) National Wrestling Championships, February 28 – March 3 in Council Bluffs, IA. 

The four MUAC wrestlers competing at the NJCAA Nationals are:

  • Christopher (Chris) Bullock, a second-year student from New Palestine, IN.
  • Bryan Chavero, a second-year student from Indianapolis, IN.
  • Reese Hamblen, a second-year student from Bedford, IN.
  • Dennis Weston, a first-year student from Merrillville, IN.

Both Hamblen and Weston were also named an Academic All-American as the district coaches voted Bullock MUAC's first District Outstanding Wrestler.Reese Hamblen Dennis Weston

Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance have paid off as you've earned your spot in the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships, said Mark Line, Marian Ancilla College wrestling coach. "Your commitment to excellence is truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder to have you represent our Marian Chargers team on the national stage." 

In the last five years, Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Ancilla College has had:

  • Fourteen wrestlers qualify for NJCAA Nationals, with four being the top quality in a year.
  • Eighteen Academic All-American wrestlers.

Ancilla's team will be among 320 wrestlers competing in the national competition.
