Marian students participate in paid internships at EY, Amazon, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Eli Lilly and Company, First Merchants Bank, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and more.

Junior accounting major Macie Hadley ’25 shared, “Attending college in Indianapolis opened the door for countless opportunities, including securing an internship at EY! At EY, I’ve had the chance to work directly with the client, travel to various locations, and gain knowledge on what a full-time position in public accounting would look like. My professors and the staff at Marian did an excellent job of preparing me to take on this internship.”

To secure an internship, students participate in events hosted by The Exchange, such as career fairs, employer meet and greets, interview days, and dining etiquette courses. Students frequently make use of individual appointments and open office hours with the career development staff, as well as self-service access to their free professional clothing closet.

“The Exchange works with every single Byrum School of Business student throughout their time Marian, and we see many come back as alumni – some to continue utilizing our services, but even more who want to give back to their alma mater by being a resource to current students,” said Jenny Morris, executive director of The Exchange. “We get to know the students, help them discern and articulate their personal career goals, and connect them with events, resources, and contacts to help secure one or more internships and a career after graduation.”
