Anthony L. Martin, DO, joined the faculty at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK College of Osteopathic Medicine in July of 2022. He previously served at Ascension St. Vincent as the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Academic Hospitalist Medical Director, as well as the President of the Medical Staff.
Dr. Martin earned his B.S. in Biology from Campbellsville University in 1998 and graduated from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He completed his internship and residency at Ascension St. Vincent in Internal Medicine and became American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certified in Internal Medicine in 2007. He then joined a rural private practice in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he practiced traditional osteopathic internal medicine and founded their first hospitalist program. He was awarded the Georgetown Community Hospital Physician of the Year in 2009 and the Georgetown News Graphic Physician of the year in 2010.
He transitioned to Ascension St. Vincent in 2012 as an academic hospitalist hybrid, teaching inpatient and outpatient medicine. He was awarded the Inpatient Teacher of the Year in 2016, the Internal Medicine Residency Distinguished Service Award in 2020, and the 2021 Faculty of the Year award for the Transitional/Preliminary Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Martin recently had the opportunity to speak at national educational conferences on culture change, faculty development, and scholarly activity.
Dr. Martin has been married to Brooke for 18 years. They have three children, Caleb (16) and Joshua and Silas (10), twins. He enjoys traveling with his wife and boys, ornithology, the outdoors, and coaching his boys in baseball, basketball, and football.
