Lugar Fellow Global Studies Scholarship

The Lugar Fellow Global Studies Scholarship is a $2,000 per year, annually renewable scholarship for students who pursue a minor in global studies.

Lugar Fellows are eligible for an exclusive, one-week spring break program in Washington, D.C., in their junior or senior years, where they meet with Indiana senators and congressmen, visit a foreign embassy and the headquarters of major international organizations, tour museums and centers of power in Washington, and meet with current and former government officials and other international experts.

To be considered, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Incoming freshmen:
    • Hold a minimum high school GPA of 3.25
    • Earn the minimum test score listed below on one of the following exams:
      • 1160 (critical reading and math) on the revised 2016 SAT completed in March 2016 or later.
      • 24 ACT composite
  • Transfer students: Must hold a minimum college GPA of 3.00.
  • Possess strong potential for leadership and academic success.
  • Have an interest in global issues, foreign language study, and study abroad.
  • Commit to an educational experience framed within the context of Franciscan values of dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.

The Lugar Fellow Global Studies Scholarship is renewable for up to seven semesters when you:

  • Maintain a 3.00 college GPA.
  • Continue as a global studies minor.
  • Participate in global studies co-curricular activities, including but not limited to:
    • Assist with the university's Global Studies Speaker Series and other public events.
    • Interact with the community.
