Scholar Week for 21st Century Scholars

Are you a 21st Century Scholar who will start classes at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK this August? Plan now to attend this special event for incoming 2022-23 students. We'll help ensure your college experience gets off to a great start.

  • Attendance is highly encouraged for all 21st Century Scholars, including first-time and transfer students.
  •  It takes just a few minutes to complete our Scholar Week Registration Form.

What will you do during Scholar Week?

During this event, you will explore campus and learn about a range of resources, like the library and The Exchange. You'll also start building relationships with your new peers and make friends that last a lifetime.

  • Connect with professors and staff who care about helping you succeed.
  • Tour the campus and locate the rooms for all of your first-semester classes.
  • Meet and spend time with your peer mentor.
  • Take part in fun social events, like zip lining and exploring the city of Indianapolis.

Once registered, the Office of 21st Century Scholars will send you a full schedule later this summer with complete details.

What is the Mentor to Success Program?

During Scholar Week, we'll also introduce you to our Mentor to Success Program, an initiative in which all 21st Century Scholars at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK participate.

  • Designed to engage and empower you as you begin your first year of college, the Mentor to Success program connects you with an upperclassman and 21st Century Scholar who will serve as your mentor.
  • Throughout the fall semester, your mentor will help you adjust to campus life and become an active, engaged campus community member.

We aim to foster an inclusive environment and help you build peer relationships through shared experiences, campus programs, and service-learning opportunities.

As a first-year 21st Century Scholar at Marian, you can expect:

  • Direct access to student resources and a community of support during the early stages of your academic career.
  • A strong network of support for developing your personal and leadership skills.
  • A  greater sense of belonging and community.
  • Encouragement and guidance as you transition from high school to the college environment.
  • Benefits that only come from the knowledge and experience of an upperclassman who understands your journey.
