As you prepare for Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK classes, please read this pre-arrival information. Every student is unique, so you may need to adjust the order of the steps or take additional information into consideration.

Our Pre-Arrival Guide 2022-2023 contains suggestions and details to help you prepare for your arrival.

  • To reserve your place, undergraduate students should submit a $100 enrollment deposit, which will be applied to your first-semester fees, at marian.edu/deposit. Deposits are refundable on written request if received before May 1 (for fall admission) and December 1 (for spring admission). Deposits may be paid online through the .
  • College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) students should contact COM's admission office for information about required deposits.
  • Other graduate students should contact your program advisors for information a about required deposits.

Review your I-20 or DS-2019 for accuracy as soon as you receive it. Confirm that your biographical information, program of study, and financial information are correct. Contact us immediately if there are errors.

  • Student visa applicants must pay a SEVIS fee. For F-1 visa applications, the fee is $350. For J-1 visa applicants, the fee is $220. If you are transferring to Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK from another U.S. school and have already paid this fee, you do not need to pay again.
  • Pay online with credit card on the  or by check, money order, or bank draft.
  • Print your I-901 fee receipt and keep a copy for your records. You may need to present proof of payment at your visa appointment, when traveling to the U.S., or when applying for F-1 or J-1 benefits such as off-campus work options.

After you have the SEVIS fee receipt, you can apply for an F-1 or J-1 visa at your nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please note that Canadian citizens do not need to obtain a visa; instead they obtain their immigration status when crossing the U.S. border. Please see the visa application web page for more information. In light of closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please visit U.S. embassy websites for updates on closures and changes in procedures.

  • A number of campus housing options—ranging from community- and suite-style dorm rooms to campus apartments—are available for international students.
  • All students under 21 years old are required to live on campus.

  • Undergraduate students meet with academic advisors and register for classes during a  (SOAR) session. Register online for a SOAR session.
  • College of Osteopathic Medicine and other graduate students will receive individual information about academic advising and enrolling in classes from your program advisor.

  • Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK offers a number of bill payment options. You'll find information about our payment policies and due dates on the Business Office web page. 
  • Payments made by credit or debit card will incur a fee assessed by the processing company. The fee rate is subject to change and depends on the card; however, rates are currently 2.99 percent of the total charge.
  • If you are sponsored by your home government or the U.S. government, please submit your Financial Guarantee along with your admission documents and provide a copy to the Business Office.

  • All Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK students should have health insurance and submit immunization record(s) prior to arrival through Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK's Connect platform.
  • Find information about student healthcare and insurance online, including the required health insurance policy available through Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK.
  • College of Osteopathic Medicine students should review these additional health requirements

  • Be sure to keep all immigration documents and prescriptions with you in your carry-on luggage. Do not pack your I-20 or DS-2019.
  • Don't be nervous going through immigration. Knowing what to expect can help. Please review what to expect at your so that you can be prepared. 
  • Carefully plan when and where to arrive. Explore our travel web page for specific information to help you plan your arrival.
  • Staff in our Office of International Student Success & Global Engagement can meet students at Indianapolis International Airport (IND). Please review the travel web page for more information and to submit your request.

  • Undergraduate students must attend a Student Orientation and International Student Orientation session. Review our orientation page for details.
  • Graduate students will receive individual information from program advisors about dates and times for their orientation sessions, including International Student Orientation.
