About the Institute

Come enjoy our week-long day camp experience designed to bring together high school student leaders! 

Our all-inclusive Leadership Institute is designed with the student-leader in mind and promises a hands-on, interactive learning experience.  Designed and developed by a team of career educators and mentors, our curriculum ensures we are providing the most up-to-date, educationally sound, and engaging experience for student leaders. Students are encouraged to grow, learn, experiment, and develop their skills in a safe, supportive environment.  Our staff of professional educators and college mentors bring experience, skills, extensive pedagogy training, and professionalism to our program allowing participants to interact and learn with quality role models.

Curriculum

The Leadership Institute offers a wide range of classes and topics to allow participants to personalize their experience to meet the needs of their organization and their individual leadership roles. Participants will select classes that focus on leadership techniques, team building, problem solving, conflict resolution, as well as instructional and teaching techniques.  Instructional and teaching techniques are ideal classes for students in leadership roles such as cadet teaching, faith group leaders, choir or band section leaders and managers, peer mentors, coaches, and others with formal and informal authority roles.  

As a participant in the Klipsch Educator’s College Leadership Institute, you will learn:

  • Applicants must be a high school student at the time of the program.

Cost

The cost of attendance is $295 for a five-day program and includes lunches, snacks, off-campus
experiences, and all camp materials. Financial assistance and scholarships are available. Please
contact kwilder@marian.edu to learn about scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are available
for up to 70% of the cost of attendance.

  • A 15% discount will be offered to families registering two or more participants. Please use code
    SIBLINGS15 when registering.
  • A 15% discount will be offered to schools registering 10 or more participants. Please use code SCHOOL15 when registering.
  • A special track for teachers and advisors is offered at $100. Please use code ADVISOR during registration.

Location

The Leadership Institute will take place June 23-27, 2025 at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK. The Leadership Institute check-in time 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m. daily. Each day concludes at 4 p.m. 


A closing ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025.  Family members and school administrators are invited to attend. 

NEW Track for Teachers and Advisors

We are pleased to offer a dedicated track for teachers and individuals who serve as group advisors. The registration fee for this track is $100 and includes specialized sessions designed to enhance leadership skills and professional development.

Participants will benefit from:

  • Lunches and snacks provided throughout the event
  • Off-campus experiences
  • Comprehensive camp materials

Join us to expand your expertise and connect with fellow educators! Educators can earn continuing education hours or professional development hours.

Team Talks

Team Talks are small group sessions facilitated by a Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK students who are serving as summer camp staff. Each day, the counselor will lead a Team Talk that includes an experiential activity linked to a leadership concept. Following the activity, the counselor will guide a debriefing session to assist participants in reflecting on their experiences and applying insights to their current lives. Participants will engage in self-reflection through journaling and guided prompts to enhance their understanding and personal growth.

Keynote Sessions

Designed to inspire and motivate, participants will attend keynote sessions that focus on leadership. Presented by Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK faculty members, keynote sessions are engaging conversations that are designed to be interactive and reflective. Participants will be encouraged to actively engage and relate the content to their own personal experiences. Each keynote will emphasize an underlying theme related to academic success, ensuring that students not only gain insights into leadership concepts but also understand their connection to academic success. Participants leave each session feeling motivated and inspired.

Field Trips
Field trips are an essential component of the KEC Leadership Institute. Participants will visit various organizations in Indianapolis to explore leadership concepts in a real-world context. Experienced facilitators will guide these excursions, providing valuable insights and advice to enhance the learning experience.

Schedule & FAQs

We stay busy! A detailed schedule will be available for participants when they check in. Below is an overview of our days. On Tuesday and Thursday, participants will travel off campus for a leadership experience with campus partners. Classes will be mostly offered inside, with some aspects taking place outdoors on Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK’s beautiful campus. Students should be prepared to spend time both indoors and outdoors.

What should I bring with me?

Here is a suggested list of items to bring with you during your Leadership Institute Experience: 

  • Water bottle (provided during check-in)
  • Daily camp t-shirts (provided during check-in)
  • Tennis shoes or comfortable walking shoes
  • Sweatshirt or additional layers- some of our classrooms get cold. 
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Institute notebook (provided during check-in)

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes! A $50 discount is offered to families with multiple participants. 

Are there scholarships available?

Yes!  The costs of attendance is $275 and includes lunches, snacks, and all camp materials. Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK offers financial assistance to families in need. Please contact camps@marian.edu to learn more.

I need to arrive late or leave early one day.  Can I do that?

Yes! If you have a schedule conflict and need to arrive late or leave early, please complete the following form and email to camps@marian.edu.  

Are the classes inside or outside? 

Most of our classes are inside, but we will venture outdoors and visit campus partners! Please be prepared with sunscreen, water bottle, sunglasses, hat, and any other items you will need to be productive outdoors.
