The program is designed for students who are interested in education-oriented careers, including those that go beyond becoming a licensed K-12 classroom teacher.

Many students who choose this major know that they want to continue their educations and earn a master's or doctoral degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or counseling.

Others want to work as:

  • Preschool, elementary, middle, or high school program directors, counselors, administrators, or psychologists.
  • Educational policy makers and analysts for local, state, and federal government agencies
  • Corporate trainers who work in business settings to train new employees, teach new skills and systems to existing employees, and help ensure effective transitions to new technologies.
