We are Committed to Guiding You through FAFSA

At Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK, we are committed to providing incoming and current students with accurate guidance and up-to-date information surrounding FAFSA and financial aid packages. While this year has been a unique experience, we want to assure you our dedication to providing trusted, precise, and accurate information remains true.

We pledge not to issue any financial aid package without complete confidence that it represents the absolute best offer available—no guesswork or estimating. We urge caution if you happen to receive a financial aid estimate from another institution, emphasizing our commitment to providing you with the most reliable and informed support throughout your academic journey.

While the exact timing of issuing financial aid packages remains unknown until we have the necessary info from the federal government, we encourage incoming students to review your Enrollment Checklist to ensure you are taking the necessary steps to start college this fall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Congress passed the FAFSA Simplification Act to streamline the process of applying for financial aid.

The form has fewer questions for families to answer.

The Federal Pell Grant program will expand to more students based on family size and the federal poverty level.

Instead of receiving an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which estimated what a family might be required to pay, families will receive a Student Aid Index (SAI). The SAI focuses on the amount of financial help a student might qualify for.

The SAI will not look at the number of family members in college. This means if you have a sibling or parent in college at the same time as you, your SAI may be higher than your EFC would have been. This could impact your need-based aid eligibility.

If your parents are separated or divorced, the parent to fill out the FAFSA will need to be the one who provides the most financial support, which may or may not be the parent you live with.

If your family owns a farm or small business, information regarding the value of the farm or business must now be included on the FAFSA. This could also impact your SAI.

There’s no time like the present!  The FAFSA is available for completion at . We strongly encourage you to have the form submitted no later than April 15.

Your financial aid will be calculated using the SAI from your FAFSA, once those results are made available to schools.

Your offer will include federal, state (if applicable), and institutional awards.

Financial aid offers are currently being sent to students as their FAFSA information is received by the Office of Financial Aid! If you are not filing a FAFSA, please email finaid@marian.edu so we can move your package and notification forward.

Marian’s financial aid offers are sent in two ways:
  • An interactive offer letter is emailed to the preferred email on the student’s admission application (if you are an incoming student) and to your Marian email (if you are a current student). Make sure to check your spam folders and email settings.
  • A MUHUB portal notification will also be sent to your Marian email, letting you know your financial aid package is ready to view. Every student will need their Marian email and password credentials to view this information, including incoming students. If you need assistance with your Marian credentials, please email HelpDesk@marian.edu.

After viewing your offer, the next step is to formally accept your offer in the MUHUB portal (again, make sure you have your Marian credentials to access MUHUB). If you are an incoming student, you must submit your enrollment deposit to save your seat in the fall class by May 1, 2024, and register for New Student Orientation.
  • If you are an incoming student and would like to appeal your academic/merit offer, please email jmorales@marian.edu
  • If you would like to apply for need-based special circumstances, please email finaid@marian.edu

Students must wait until their FAFSA is reopened by the U.S. Department of Education to make corrections, including signatures. Please continue to monitor studentaid.gov for updates.
